Jenna Fischer has become best well-known as Pam Beesly, the character she played in The Office. For this role, Jenna received two SAG Awards in Outstanding Ensemble Comedy and an Emmy Award for Best Supporting Actress.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but her family was primarily from St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna's mom Anne used to perform in dramas at church when she was younger, and this instilled an enthusiasm for theatre.
A trained theater actress, Fischer returned to her roots after wrapping The Office. She starred with Josh Hamilton Leslie Bibb Fred Weller in Neil LaBute's Off Broadway show Reasons for Being Happy. After starring in Steve Martin's most recent play Meteor Shower (an absurdist comedy co-written by Greg Germann and Josh Stamberg), she went on to perform the record-breaking Old Globe Theatre's world premiere.
The Office actress Angela Kinsey Fischer, who is her real-life best friend and castmate, launched Office Ladies in October 2019 on Earwolf. The show became wildly successful, ranking in the Top Ten of the world every week. It received over 200,000,000 downloads during its first 2 years. Office Ladies received the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She is the writer of The Actor's Life The Actor's Life: A Survival Guide (coauthored with Angela Kinsey) The book tells her journey from St. Louis to Hollywood and becoming a working actress is detailed.
