Nadia and Carol

Nadia Comaneci was born on the 12th of November, 1961 within Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej (now Onesti), Romania. Nadia is the Romanian Olympic gymnast and she holds the record for being recognized with 10/10 scores in an Olympic performance. Comaneci was discovered by Bela Karolyi, later to be the Romanian gymnastics instructor when she was only six years old. In 1969, she took part at the Romanian Junior Championships where she placed 13th. She was awarded the championship in 1970. In her very first international competition in 1972, she won the event by winning three gold awards. She took home four gold medals and one silver medals at her debut competition as a senior that took place in 1975. This was the first time she had competed as a senior. She was the first female to ever successfully complete the backwards double salto when dismounting from an uneven parallel bar. Her career in the entertainment business began during her teens when she started skating figure alongside her younger sister Nina Wayne as part of the shows that traveled around that were known as Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne was born on the 6th of September 1942 on the 6th of September 1942 in Chicago Illinois US. Carol entered the entertainment industry when she was in her teens. Early on, Carol began as a figure skater on the show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. They featured ice skating shows that included theatrical performances.
